All
Washburn University students are eligible to visit our office free-of-charge
for treatment of illnesses or injuries. No appointment is necessary. (Please
note, treatment is not available to spouses or children of students.)
Services
provided by the Student Health Center include:
- Care
for illnesses or injuries
- Health
education
- Preventive
medicine
- Gynecologic
care, including family planning services
- Diagnostic
consultation of physical and emotional problems
- Referrals
to other health care facilities when necessary (at the student's expense)

HEALTH INSURANCE
Information
for student health insurance is available in our office, the Dean
of Students Office (Morgan Hall, Room 104). The Student Insurance Brochure and Enrollment Form. Students can also enroll online.
Purchase
of the health insurance plan is optional and is
not required for visits to the Student Health Center;
however, given the potentially astronomical cost of medical

IMMUNIZATIONS
We
also offer the following immunizations at this time:

A
One shot with a booster 6-12 months later
Lifetime immunization
Cost for ages 18 yrs. and younger is $10.00 (the booster
is the same price)
Cost for ages 19 yrs. and older is $20.00 (the booster is
the same price)
- Hepatitis
B
Three shots required; one immediately, second after one
month, third five months later.
Lifetime immunization
Cost for ages 18 to 19 yrs is $12 per shot
Cost for ages 20 yrs and older is $24 per shot
- Measles,
Mumps and Rubella (MMR)

- Meningococcal
Vaccine
One shot required, though a booster may be necessary
in 5 to 7 years (preferred age group is 14 to 25 yrs.)

- Gardasil
Series of three shots over six months. Protects against cervical cancer and genital warts.
