Direct High School Matriculant – A student graduating from high school in May and will be enrolling at Washburn University as a degree-seeking student the following summer and/or fall semester.
Freshman – A first-time degree-seeking Washburn student who graduated from high school at least one year ago and has completed 0-23 hours of credit at an accredited college or university.
Transfer Student – A first-time degree-seeking Washburn student who has completed 24 or more hours of credit at an accredited college or university.
International – A student who is not a citizen of the United States of America, but plans to study here on an F1 Visa.
2+2 PLAN – A student with an Associate’s degree from a participating community college who will pursue a Bachelor’s degree through the online degree completion program, known as the 2+2 PLAN.
Returning Student – A student applying to a degree-seeking program who has previously earned college credit as a degree-seeking student at Washburn University. Students who took college classes at Washburn University while still in high school are not considered returning students.
High School – A student who has not yet graduated from high school and will be taking classes at Washburn University on a part-time basis while still enrolled in high school classes.
Non-degree seeking – A high school or college graduate who will be taking classes at Washburn University, but has no immediate plans to receive a degree from the institution.
Post-Baccalaureate Student – A student who has earned a Bachelor’s degree and is either planning on obtaining an additional Bachelor’s degree or taking graduate level courses without acceptance in to a specific graduate program.
Graduate Student – A student who has earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and is applying to a graduate program.
Law – A student applying to Washburn University’s School of Law.
