As a premier Midwest regional institution, Washburn is recognized as a leader in providing a superior, student-centered, teaching-focused learning experience. Washburn graduates are prepared for success. Our board-based liberal arts and professional education programs are enhanced by the tradition of an interactive relationship between campus and community.
The Campus Master Plan sets the vision for more than 10 years of facility development on our campus. Creating it provided an opportunity to reposition the physical environment to support Washburn's identity as an instructional leader and as a significant community anchor. With the 150th anniversary of Washburn in 2015, this master plan offers yet another way to celebrate Washburn's legacy and establish a blueprint for its future.

Master plan vision
With unanimous support from the Washburn Board of Regents and the Master Plan Committee, the vision for the physical campus is organized around a campus crossroads concept.
New development and existing buildings are linked along north-south and east-west spines. The great lawn is framed by parallel pathways and redefines the heart of campus.
