What are the dates of the Summer Ichabod Success Institute?
Accepted participants will complete a five-week residential program that will run from June 30 - July 30, 2020.


How much is tuition for the Summer Ichabod Success Institute?
Tuition is free for all accepted participants.


How much is room and board?
Room and board is free for all accepted applicants.


Will meals be provided?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided free of charge from Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast.


Do I have to attend the full 5 weeks?
Yes. Attendance at all Summer Ichabod Success Institute classes and programs is mandatory. Failure to attend all functions can result in dismissal from the program.


Do I have to live on campus?
Yes. The Ichabod Success Institute is a completely immersive program whose residential component creates a structured living and learning environment.


Am I allowed to choose my roommate?
No, you are not allowed to choose your roommate.


Am I allowed to leave campus?
You will be allowed to leave campus on Saturday afternoon. You must return to campus by Sunday dinner.


Can I have a job while attending the Summer Ichabod Success Institute?
No. The Institute is a completely immersive and intensive program that allows no time for an outside job. However, those who successfully complete the summer program will receive an on-campus job during the 2020-21 academic year.


Will I receive University credit for participating in the Summer Ichabod Success Institute?
Yes, you will earn 6 credits towards a degree.


What happens after I participate in the Summer Ichabod Success Institute?
Students who complete the summer program are expected to participate in a series of prescriptive and programmatic elements during the subsequent 5 semesters.  An academic “success schedule” of at least 14 credit hours will be constructed for you that includes at least one class each semester that you will take with fellow Institute participants.  


What happens after I complete the Ichabod Success Institute?
The Institute will provide a supportive environment for the first two years at Washburn University.  After your second year, you will have earned an Associate degree, completed over 60 credit hours, and be well on your way to earning a Bachelor’s degree.
