Near the Colorado border, 22 miles south of Exit 1 on I-70 (down a long gravel road) there is a farmer's field with the distinction of being the highest point in Kansas -- at 4,039 feet. | Max and I arrived on a sunny day in April and enjoyed the "nose-bleed" view of rolling farmland from the monument and picnic area provided by the kind landowner. |
I guarantee you that there was nobody else at Mt. Sunflower at the time we made our visit. |
