Around These Parts: In Memory of C. Margaret Hanson

Cecil Margaret Hanson, 85, Topeka, died Sunday, April 4, 1999 at a Topeka hospital where she was admitted Saturday. She suffered a stroke.

She was born Nov. 3, 1913, in Independence, Kan., to Leslie and Dora Fansler. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Independence Community College. She lived in Topeka 43 years.

She and Clyde L. Hanson were married in 1933. He died Feb. 12, 1991.

Survivors include a son, Gary L. Hanson, Overland park; a daughter, Betty J. Hanson, Alberquerque, N.M.; a brogher, Bob Fansler, Phoenix; a sister, Midlred Pursel, Champaign, Ill.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Downs Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City, 8340 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS, 66206; or to the Jaramillo Learning Fund and sent in care of Norwest Banks, P.O. Box 4, Belen, N.M., 87002.
