All Mabee Library services will be moved online and in-person University Libraries operations will cease until March 31 at the earliest to support the social distancing guidelines implemented by Washburn University in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.  This decision incorporates the latest guidance from the American Library Association and the Association for College and Research Libraries.

During the modified service period:

  • There is no access to the University Archives and Special Collections.
  • Electronic Interlibrary loan service continues dependent upon the accessibility of materials from lending libraries.
  • All current loaned materials (i.e., books currently checked out) are being automatically renewed until May 31, 2020, should you receive a notification recalling materials please notify refemail@washburn.edu.
  • Librarians will continue to augment their subject specific guides for research by discipline at washburn.edu
  • Librarians remain accessible, M-F, 8:00am to 8:00pm, to all members of the Washburn University Community of Learning by telephone, e-mail, Zoom and Live Chat
