Why Study Kinesiology at Washburn?

Kinesiology is an academic discipline concerned with the study of physical activity and human movement and its impact on health, society, and quality of life.

Kinesiology majors will be immersed in comprehensive professional preparation programs, each designed to meet or exceed state and/or national standards, in order to acquire the skills and abilities necessary to successfully deal with the challenges of working in areas such as health promotion and fitness, cardiac rehabilitation, sports administration, injury prevention and care, and public school teaching.

Students pursuing a Kinesiology degree are exposed to leadership, research and educational service opportunities through participation in internships, clinical placements, student teaching, and volunteerism.

A career in a Kinesiology related profession is fun, interesting and rewarding and provides an excellent academic foundation for the student wishing to pursue a graduate and/or a professional degree in a wide range of allied health fields.
