How To Apply

Apply to Washburn and become an Ichabod!  We’ll need:

Students with fewer than 24 credit hours must also submit official high school transcripts and ACT/COMPASS exam scores. 

Important note: To be considered official, transcripts must arrive at Washburn via USPS from the institution that issues them.  Washburn accepts official electronic transcripts at Washburn does not accept faxed transcripts as official. 

Scholarship Notice

Students must complete their fall application files by February 15 to be considered for scholarships.  Washburn annually awards approximately $6 million in scholarships to first-time undergraduates.  To qualify for scholarships, you must have at least 48 credit hours from a Kansas community college or select Missouri community college and a cumulative 3.25 college GPA.  You cannot have attended a 4-year university after high school. 

Financial Aid Notice

All students are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid.  5 to 7 days after you complete the application, you will receive your Student Aid Report, which the Financial Aid Office uses to determine your eligibility for aid before notifying you of your awards via USPS. The Financial Aid Office has information about grants and loans.  You must complete your application to receive a financial aid disbursement.  The Business Office keeps a schedule of financial aid refunds
