Student Organization Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards

Student Involvement & Development hosts a celebration of excellence on behalf of all recognized student organizations through the SOAR awards program. This annual awards ceremony is a prestigious event, designed to honor outstanding student organizations and leaders for their service, leadership and programming throughout the past academic year.

The following are the individual awards available for all registered student organizations:

  • Emerging Leader Award ~ recognizing a freshman or transfer student leader.
  • Outstanding Program of the Year ~ recognizing programs organized through student organization leadership, one award is given in each category: community service, diversity, educational, and campus enhancement.
  • Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award ~ recognizing the faculty or staff advisor that has provided continual support to their organization.
  • President’s Outstanding Leader Award ~ recognizing a student who show academic excellence, campus involvement, service, and leadership.
  • Random Acts of Kindness Community Service Award ~ recognizes a student who has made outstanding contributions to the community.
  • Student Organization of the Year ~ recognizes a student organization that shows campus engagement, membership development, leadership training, and organizational activity.
  • True Blue bod Spirit Award ~ recognizes a student that shows great Ichabod prided and is actively engaged on campus.

WU's Who at Washburn

This program honors students that are nominated by Faculty or Staff on campus. The students must perform well academically, be engaged in campus life, be actively involved in community service and show leadership initiative.
