We are pleased to announce the 2025-2026 iREAD selection The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning. The iREAD lecture will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 in White Concert Hall, Washburn University campus.
When her father dies, Princess Amarande is given an ultimatum: Marry the leader of one of the four neighboring kingdoms or lose her crown—and possibly her life. And to force her hand, her beloved, the stable boy Luca, is kidnapped, but Amarande was raised to be a warrior, not a sacrifice and nothing will stop her from saving her true love and rescuing her kingdom.
Henning is the author of several books for young adults, including The Lies We Conjure, plus the Indies Introduce/Indies Next selection and Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection Sea Witch, and its sequel, Sea Witch Rising; The Princess Will Save You, The Queen Will Betray You, and The King Will Kill You. Her first middle grade book, Monster Camp, was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award.
