Battle of the Books is ON! Pick up your bracket in the library, fill it out and bring it to the welcome desk by September 11! Then, each week you can vote for your winning books.
Vote each week by placing a pebble in the jar of your favorite books and see who moves on to the next round. The winner gets to choose four books from our list of contestants!
Book Battle Rules
Filling out the bracket
- For each matchup, choose the book you think will advance.
- One bracket per person.
- Brackets must be submitted before the end of the first round of voting.
- Incomplete brackets are accepted but may score fewer points.
Scoring
Participants earn points for each correct pick:
- Round 1: 1 point
- Quarterfinals (Elite 8): 2 points
- Semifinals (Final 4): 4 points
- Championship: 8 points
- The participant with the winning bracket gets to choose 4 books from the battle to keep!
Voting
There will be 2 matchups per week to vote on until the final week
- Round 1: 16 books → 8 winners
- Quarterfinals: 8 books → 4 winners
- Semifinals: 4 books → 2 winners
- Championship: 2 books → 1 winner
Voting Rules
- Vote for one book in each matchup.
- The book with the most votes advances.
- Ties are decided by:
- A 24-hour runoff vote.
- One vote per participant per matchup.
- The championship winner is crowned the Book Battle Champion.
All voting will take place in the library.
Book Battle Timeline
First round of voting begins on September 8th and ends on September 17th
Brackets are due by September 11th
Voting closes Thursday nights and we will announce the winners on Friday
All subsequent rounds will be 1 week Sun- Thurs

No Voting Fall Break Oct 4 – 10
Round 4 Oct 11 – 15
Round 5 Oct 18 – 22

Final Round Championship Nov 8 – 12
The winning bracket will be announced the week of November 16th
