Develop your career ready skills
For new college graduates, career readiness is key to ensuring successful entrance into the workforce. It is more important than ever for students to develop career and transferable skills throughout their educational experience, in addition to the excellent content knowledge gained in coursework.
The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) defines these essential skills in eight specific career readiness categories. These skills include Critical Thinking, Communication, Teamwork, Technology, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, and Career & Self-Development. Employers highly value these career skills across all industries and are specifically looking for candidates who gained them during their college experience. Let the Washburn Career Engagement Team help you explore options to develop these competencies throughout your college career.

"Career Engagement is one of the best resources Washburn has. The staff is amazing and well connected across the community with lots of employers and resources! I went to them for help with resume building and career assessments or job search tips every year, and they were always willing to help, no matter what stage of the process I was in."
