Academic History

Kelly Thor received her PhD in Art History from the University of Louisville, Kentucky, where she focused on medieval and ancient art history. Since coming to Washburn, she has taught a range of courses, led study abroad trips, and developed an obsession with the mascot, Ichabod. When not in the classroom talking about tombs, shiny objects, and all manner of art, she pursues her research concerning the sacred landscapes inhabited by eleventh and twelfth-century Iberian "frontier" churches. https://washburn.academia.edu
