Earn Credit for Prior Learning
Recognizing that individuals gain knowledge outside a traditional postsecondary environment, Washburn University maintains a comprehensive Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) program. The University may grant credit through national/international examinations, university departmental examinations, and/or prior military training.
The Academic Testing Center offers CLEP and DSST as options for Credit by Exam.
In addition, students may have credit awarded through Prior Learning Transcripts. Examples of Prior Learning Transcripts include Advanced Placement (AP) Testing for high school students, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, Cambridge College courses, the Seal of Biliteracy, and credit granted for Military Service. These transcripts should be sent to the University Registrar for evaluation. Learn more about Prior Learning Transcripts.
