Admission Criteria
Please follow theses steps to apply:
- Apply to Washburn University. Official transcripts must accompany the Washburn University application.
- Apply to the HIT program by submitting a complete application packet to Michelle Shipley, Program Director. Official transcripts must also accompany the application to the HIT program. Further instructions are provided in the application packet.
NOTE: You must first be accepted to Washburn University before applying to the HIT program.
The admission of students into a Washburn University degree or certificate program offered online or at sites outside of Kansas is contingent upon the University's compliance with any applicable regulations or laws enacted by those states in which the students reside. The University is reviewing the regulations imposed by other states in which our current students reside to determine their applicability and the feasibility of complying with such regulations in the future.
Selection of students is based on:
- Completion of the application
- Letter of intent
- Letters of recommendation
- Grades
- Past work experiences
- Previous relevant college courses completed
Application to Washburn University and application to the HIT program DOES NOT CONSTITUTE ADMISSION.
Application Deadline
Completed applications must be received by February 1 for the next fall semester. Notification of acceptance or denial will be sent by March 15. Late applications will be accepted with approval on a space available basis.
