Learn English for free
The Washburn community offers two ways to improve your English language skills in a supportive and interactive environment. Meet new friends and gain the confidence you need to navigate English-speaking situations with ease.
On Washburn University campus
- When: 1-3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays while classes are in session in the fall (Sept. - Dec.) and spring (Feb. - May).
- Where: Reading Room in the LLC (Living Learning Center) lobby 1801 SW Jewell Ave.
- Want to join? Just visit the reading room in the LLC during class time! No application required and it's completely free.
Classes are offered in small groups with volunteers from the community. For more information email anita.epps@washburn.edu.
At Washburn Tech East campus

Day Classes are:
- Morning 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Afternoon 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Night Classes are:
- 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Classes are taught by qualified instructors.
