When you complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you may be selected for verification. Verification requires you to submit certain documents to the school to confirm the information on your FAFSA is accurate.

Appeals
If you believe you have unusual circumstances that aren’t reflected in your FAFSA, a request may be submitted for review. 2023-2024 appeal forms will be posted by February 2023.

If you have lost financial aid and/or scholarships, an appeal may be available for reconsideration.

Outside Scholarships
If you are awarded a scholarship from an organization other than Washburn University, the scholarship must be reported to the Financial Aid Office.

Loans
After loan funds have disbursed, you may request to return all or a portion of the loan.
If you received a loan discharge but want to return to school, additional certification is required.
