eduroam

The eduroam (education roaming) service, developed for the international research and education community, is a secure, worldwide wireless network access system that allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to access the Internet when visiting other participating institutions. With eduroam, you can connect to the network at other member institutions using your WU credentials.

eduroam is based on the most secure encryption and authentication standards in existence today. Its security by far exceeds typical commercial hotspots.


Connecting to eduroam

  1. Go into your Wireless & Network Settings on your android device
  2. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on and go into your Wi-Fi settings
  3. Choose eduroam in your devices Wi-Fi list
  4. Scroll to the top of the options dialog until you see EAP Method
  5. Choose PEAP as the EAP Method from the drop-down
  6. r Phase 2 Authentication, choose MSCHAPV2 in the drop down box
  7. Enter your email address as the Identity (e.g. first.last@organization.edu)
  8. Ignore Anonymous Identity
  9. Enter your password
  10. Finally, press the connect button
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Enter Wi-Fi
  3. Choose the eduroam SSID under CHOOSE A NETWORK...
  4. Enter your email address as the Identity (e.g. first.last@organization.edu)
  5. Enter your password
  6. Finally, press Join
  1. Open network connection settings
  2. Under Network Name on Wi-Fi, Chose the eduroam SSID from the drop down list
  3. Enter your email address as the Username (e.g. first.last@organization.edu)
  4. Enter your password
  5. Finally, click Join
  1. Go to Wireless Settings
  2. Select eduroam
  3. Enter your email address as the Username (e.g. first.last@organization.edu)
  4. Enter your password
  5. Click Connect
  6. Click OK (if prompted)
  1. Open Wi-Fi Settings
  2. Select the eduroam SSID
  3. Wi-Fi Security should be WPA2 Enterprise
  4. Authentication should be Protected EAP
  5. CA Certificate should be None
  6. Check the "No CA certificate is required" check box
  7. PEAP Version should be Automatic
  8. Inner authentication should be MSCHAPv2
  9. Enter your email address as the Username (e.g. first.last@organization.edu)
  10. Enter your password
  11. Click Connect
