Turn Your Ideas into Action

WSGA creates change on campus through legislation passed through the student senate. This form will help you implement your ideas into a piece of legislation that you can present to the Senate. If you have an idea or initiative you'd like to see implemented at Washburn, submitting a bill to the Student Senate is a great way to make your voice heard and create meaningful changes on campus. To help guide you through the process, here is a simple form where you can provide information about your proposal. Your responses will help us draft a bill that aligns with WSGA procedures and standards, and you’ll then be able to submit it to the Senate for consideration. Whether it’s a new program, funding request, policy change, or campus improvement, we encourage you to get involved!

Process for legislation in WSGA

Once this form is completed, you will have a mandatory meeting with Legislative Research Director Newfer to discuss your legislation and any possible changes. Your legislation will appear before a Senate committee, then before WSGA Senate. It will be voted on in WSGA Senate, deciding the outcome.
