Mission

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is focused on the development of qualified sonographers who provide optimum patient care through technical competency and professional conduct. The program will provide the knowledge and cognitive skills underlying the intelligent performance of majors tasks typically required for an entry level staff sonographer.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), upon recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS). Click here to see our accreditation.

Washburn University is also accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC).
