We continue to transition the Washburn University Libraries from the Mabee building to their new location in the Plass Learning Resources Center and anticipate it will take us several more weeks of work before we can open the Libraries in Plass to students. In the interim, we will maintain a librarian staffed service desk in the Mabee. In addition, some study spaces and access to printing will exist in the Mabee.
The University Library will have four floors in Plass: the first level is a quiet study space that also houses the Washburn University Archives and Special Collections, while the second floor is a mixed space that serves the Washburn Community as a learning commons – a space for faculty and students to engage one another and the world outside the formal classroom. The third level contains the Curriculum Resources Center, a space for aspiring Pre-K – 12 educators to access the information resources they need to prepare for becoming educators. The stacks are located on the fourth floor.
